Cake Craft Superfine Snips

What does a Cake Craft Superfine Snips do?

Snips have many uses in cake decorating, from feathering to modelling and trimming.

Unique design

  • Ensures outstanding control in use
  • For making hedgehogs, Xmas trees, pine cones, corn
  • Slightly curved tips
  • Give a superfine result when pressed against icing

Have I used the Cake Craft Superfine Snips ? Do I need it?

To be honest, I do not own a pair of these snips. It might be going on my shopping list!

What I have used are small fine nail scissors (which were only used for cake decorating). I use it in a similar way to the snips but after a while my fingers would get sore from the pressure of the finger grip holders, as being small scissor the finger grips are small too. These snips are 150mmx30mmx10mm so they seem to be larger than the small nail scissors and with no finger grips my fingers won’t be restricted.

That is why I would consider buying a set. I would assume you would have to re-train yourself in using them, due to the different technique or position you might need use the snip compared to the nail scissors.

Do I use it every day?

I don’t use it every day as fondant work isn’t so popular at the moment. But I do use it every time I make trees, pine cones or similar shaped sugar decorations.
