Cachous/Sugar Pearl decorating applicator gun
What does a Cachous/Sugar Pearl decorating applicator gun do?
This modelling tool is ideal for various edible and non-edible materials, including sugar paste (rolled fondant), flower paste gum paste), marzipan or craft clays.
Are you sick of chasing those sugar pearls across the table? Making indentations in your perfect fondant and not placing your cachous in the right place? This decorating applicator is for YOU!!! Fill with your decorations, press against your cake, and apply one decoration at a time in the right place. Four different size tips allow for different size sugar pearls. This is a must-have tool to complete your cake-decorating box!
This ingenious product allows you to add pearls to your cakes and cupcakes without having to use your fingers.
No longer will you have to painstakingly add pearls one by one using your hands, potentially leaving marks on the icing or dropping them on the floor.
With the Dragéekiss™ Pearl Applicator, you can simply add pearls to your cakes by squeezing the trigger.
The applicator is extremely easy to use. Unclip the tub that holds your pearls, lift the lid and fill it with your chosen colour of pearls, then close the lid and clip it back onto the applicator. A little funnel is included to help prevent any pearls from spilling over when filling.
For best results, we would recommend PME pearls as these are firm. Some pearls are softer and can even differ slightly in size, despite what the manufacturer states as their intended size, and these will not work as well as the hard sugar pearls.

The tub will hold more than 100 pearls at any one time so you won’t have to go back and constantly refill it. The tub holds 4mm and 5mm pearls which are the most often used.
By using the applicator rather than your fingers, it means you are much less likely to smudge your buttercream or sugar paste designs, so not only is it much quicker to apply the pearls in the first place, but it will also save you time as you won’t have to go back and fix any little mistakes. It also makes decorating borders much quicker as there is no time spent placing individual pearls by hand, press the trigger and move on to the next one.
The applicator is spring-loaded and comes with a rubber nozzle that stops more than one pearl from coming out at once. This allows for better control and accuracy when dispensing your pearls, minimising potential mishaps.
As well as cakes, the applicator is ideal for adding pearls to clothes or craft projects.
The DragéeKiss™ pearl applicator comes in a plastic casing that is easy to open and close and can be used to store your tool while not in use.
PLEASE NOTE: We recommend using PME pearls as other brands may cause issues when releasing the pearls.

Have I used the Cachous/Sugar Pearl decorating applicator gun? Do I need it?
Yes, I use it when working on a cake, cupcakes, or cookies that require cachous/ sugar pearls placed in a particular position. I will get this tool out to help to get the job done faster and help with not dropping the balls (then it bounces off the table somewhere).
Tips and advice when using your DragéeKiss™ Pearl Applicator.
The pearls are getting stuck inside the tool even though 4mm/5mm pearls are being used.
The size and shape of pearls can differ slightly from some manufacturers, which may cause them to get stuck. For best results and to prevent this, use PME pearls.
Too many pearls exit at once
This can happen if more than one pearl reaches the barrel part of the tool without the plunger being totally followed through. To fix it, hold your DrageeKiss™ tool over your pot of pearls and squeeze the trigger all the way in. To help prevent this issue, ensure that the trigger is squeezed all the way down every time you wish to release a pearl and use the recommended 4mm PME pearls.
Shooting Blanks
This can happen if the plunger does not return to the starting point, with the clip making contact with the guide pin, not allowing the pearl to be pushed into the nozzle. To resolve this, push the trigger all the way down and release.
Do I use it every day?
I don’t use it every day, but when I am working on a cake, cupcakes, or cookies that require cachous/ sugar pearls placed in a particular position, I will get this tool out to help to get the job done faster and helps not dropping the balls.
