Ball Modelling Tool
Name of the mystery tool
Ball Modelling Tool
What does a Ball Modelling Tool do?
When rolling the tool over fondant/sugar paste/gum paste it can thin out the edge and create a frill look. The ball modelling tool can create many shapes in the icing, creators for a planet or a petal with more dimensions. You can place it in a center of a petal and drag it towards yourself creating a cup shape into the petal. They come in slightly different balls which could change the frill technique slightly. The frilling tool can also be made from different materials such as plastic, wood or metal.
Have I used the Ball Modelling Tool ? Do I need it?
I do own a couple of the ball tools. They are from different brands or ones that came in a set with other tools. If I am making flowers with petals or creating a shape out of moulding paste the ball tools certainly get taken out of my toolbox because they help to get the job done faster.
Do I use it every day?
I don’t use it every day as sugar flowers and fondant work isn’t so popular at the moment. But I do use it every time I make flowers, characters and other sugar decorations.
