Cake Decorating Courses
Cake Decorating Courses
We offer three levels of Cake Decorating courses to choose from depending on what skill level you are at
Level 1: Beginner
Level 2: Intermediate
Level 3: Advanced.
I recommend starting with Level 1, so you don’t miss out on the basic skills, techniques and tips and tricks for the selected course criteria you have chosen. Most of these courses will build on the skill learnt from the level before.
There are many mediums to use in cake decorating: Buttercream, Fresh cream, Dream Whip, Imitation cream, Ganache, Fondant and Royal Icing just to name a few. We will aim to cover each one in detail but starting with buttercream as it is a common icing medium and can be the most stable icing for beginners.
In cake decorating, the techniques you use can be applied to most other icing mediums, for example, piping a rosette requires the same technique in all the creams, icings and frostings. (Besides fondant/sugar paste icing). The only differences would be the size piping nozzle or the pressure applied.
One of the most important skill is to learn in cake decorating is knowing how to use a piping bag.
I have created a cake decorating piping technique guide to offer a direct lesson in learning the skill of piping.
